The tech industry remains split on the remote, hybrid, in-office debate. Rather than reducing it to a profitability-over-all-else conversation, however, Entersekt has taken a deliberate, people-first decision to relocate its South Africa head office in Stellenbosch.
The move—from Techno Park to Trumali Place—keeps Entersekt in the heart of Stellenbosch where it all began in 2008 but reflects how its teams work today and how the company plans to scale operations in the future.
“Our operating model has evolved,” shares Rita Lindenberg, SVP People. “We are a global, remote-first business, and our physical space needs to reflect that reality. The office is no longer a place people come to every day by default; it’s a place they come to with purpose. Our people value meaningful in‑person time to collaborate, solve problems, and build culture, including simple moments like Friday lunches. Even as a globally dispersed team, we prioritize connection where it counts.”
Entersekt’s new office was designed and built with intention. Instead of rows of permanent desks, the space supports in-person collaboration and innovation-driven interactions—exchanges that are most impactful when held face-to-face. Day-to-day work continues to happen remotely, giving employees flexibility while still ensuring that physical connection remains an enabler rather than an obligation.

“The real value lies in making it easier for teams to come together when it truly matters. This was not simply a real estate decision. It was a people, culture, and strategy decision,” Lindenberg adds.
Efficiency driving talent development
Mindful of the competitive nature of the fintech market, Entersekt has also used the move to reinvest in its most valuable assets: its people.
By relocating to a workspace that supports modern ways of work and uses renewable energy and wastewater renewal, Entersekt has lowered its operational costs while contributing to a more sustainable operational footprint. These savings are being channeled directly back into the workforce through the enrolment of employees into 12-month learnership programs. Participants complete nationally recognized qualifications aligned to both their current roles and longer-term career aspirations.
This choice demonstrates a "triple bottom line" approach—balancing environmental sustainability, financial efficiency, and social investment.

A modern blueprint for growth
Lindenberg explains that the move reflects a modern philosophy that offices should serve strategy, not tradition. This approach reflects a broader shift where companies are optimizing for productivity, engagement, and wellbeing. And Entersekt is proud to be leading the way.
“As South African tech companies continue to navigate the complexities of hybrid work, Entersekt’s model offers a clear example of how a physical office can remain relevant, intentional, and deeply aligned to people and purpose. The move to Trumali Place signals Entersekt’s long-term commitment to purposeful growth, investment in people, and creating spaces that enable teams to do their best work,” she says.
