Entersekt branches out into Cape Town

The Stellenbosch-born fintech provider aims to attract new talent and grow technical capacity by opening its ninth office, in Century City.

Entersekt, an innovator of mobile-first fintech solutions, today announced plans to expand its operations with the opening of a second office in the Western Cape. The office will open its doors on the seventh floor of the Apex building in Century City, Cape Town, on 1 June 2019.
This will bring the number of Entersekt offices to nine, globally; an indication of the company’s strong ongoing growth in its sector.

By positioning itself closer to the city, Entersekt aims to capitalize on the fact that Cape Town is the new technology capital of Africa. As job seekers in the tech sector continue to consider Cape Town for its vibrant tech culture, less corporate feel, and attractive lifestyle options, Entersekt hopes to secure talent from within the city’s expansive talent pool.

Richard Bailey, senior VP engineering at Entersekt, says that hiring people from in and around the Cape Town CBD continues to be a challenge. “We often miss out on really talented software engineers due to the location of our headquarters in Technopark, Stellenbosch. Despite our modern campus and plenty of technical opportunity, it’s just too far for them to consider a daily commute.

“Which is why we’re really excited about the expansion, and look forward to welcoming our new team members to the Apex building location, conveniently closer to the city for candidates who may not have considered us in the past.”

Recruitment is currently underway for the new software engineering division that will occupy the Apex building office from the beginning of June. Positions for mobile and back-end developers are among the vacancies on offer to build two full scrum teams.

The company’s senior VP human resources, Rita Lindenberg, is confident that the new workspace will offer employees a comfortable and positive work environment. “The Apex, which has a 4-Star Green Star SA rating from the Green Building Council of South Africa, is ultra-modern and hi-tech. The office itself will be fully equipped and elegantly fitted out. It also has stunning views of the Stellenbosch mountain range and greater Cape Town area!”

Additional location perks include an array of restaurants, bistros and coffee shops that spill out onto an open square on the ground floor of the Apex building. There are several hospitality, transport, retail and leisure amenities within walking distance, too. There is also ample underground and covered parking.

Finally, as has become tradition at Entersekt HQ, all employees enjoy a catered lunch on Fridays. Those in the Apex office will be no exception: they too will be treated to lunch every week!
Entersekt invites suitably equipped candidates to visit the careers page on their website at www.entersekt.com/careers to apply. Century City vacancies are clearly marked.
