Product Marketing Manager
The Role
Entersekt, a global fintech company headquartered in South Africa, is looking for a product marketing manager to join the product team. Your job as product marketing manager will be to fill the current gap that exists between the development teams, and the sales and marketing teams.
You will translate R&D technical information about features and functionality into benefits that our customers can understand, and to give the sales and marketing teams all the necessary information they need to function optimally. To succeed in this role, you will need to be an expert in our product, our customers, and our target market.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates for the role will generally possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Product positioning and messaging – Assist in developing product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market, utilizing your knowledge of who our buyers are, the problems they face, the benefits our products provide, and why our products matter.
- Sales enablement – Communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team, and assist with product and messaging training and tools to use in the sales process. These tools may include PowerPoint presentations, videos, infographics, brochures, competitor cheat sheets, and customer success stories.
- Product launch – Plan the launch of new products and releases (upgrades), and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plans.
- Market intelligence – Be the expert on our buyers, how they buy, and what their buying criteria are; be the expert on our competition and how to differentiate ourselves from them.
- Demand generation – Advise the marketing team on the campaign topics needed to educate our customers, and assist in providing quality content to support these campaigns such as whitepapers, eBooks, blog posts, and webinars.
Skills & Experience
Successful candidates for the role will generally possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or other related field
- 5+ years’ software product marketing experience with at least 2 years’ experience in a field-facing role
- Advanced experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InVision is preferred
- A demonstrated ability to cultivate and manage positive and successful client relationships, including at a senior level
- Excellent people and management skills as you will need to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties
- A technical background
- A commercially oriented outlook
- Excellent written communication skills
- A willingness to travel
