Chief of Staff

From day one, the chief of staff will be involved in improving productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing projects, and communicating objectives between departments. The ideal candidate is highly efficient, and has proven experience in a business management role, especially in executive-level support and interdepartmental collaboration.

The Role

  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development to successful execution under the guidance of the CEO and functional executives
  • Manage the CEO’s divisional budget
  • Manage the corporate calendar: set EXCO meetings, and coordinate the Board, RemCom and other strategic decision-making forums on behalf of the CEO
  • Compile the quarterly Board packs, take minutes of Board and other executive meetings, and drive the actions and resolutions of those meetings
  • Assist with driving the CEO’s agenda and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
  • Manage the CEO’s divisional Trello board and other online tools
  • Improve current processes, and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
  • Support the CEO in strategic matters pertaining to Board relations and his executive team


  • Serve as the liaison between staff, senior leaders, and the CEO, regarding strategic project updates, OKRs, proposals, and planning
  • Oversee daily operations by collaborating with senior management and departmental heads, and perform an array of administrative tasks such as generating correspondence, maintaining electronic files, planning, and coordinating annual corporate meetings
  • Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness to existing operations, and help define new operational strategies by working with the CEO and executives on special projects
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assist with preparing and disseminating communications

Skills & Experience

Successful candidates for the chief of staff role will generally possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration or similar field
  • 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • An excellent communicator in written and verbal form
  • Extremely versatile and dedicated to efficient productivity
  • Experience with data analysis and financial model building
  • Experience with budget management
  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
  • Management consulting experience, with a focus on operations management
  • Proven success in a project coordination role
  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
