IT Manager

The ideal candidate

Entersekt is looking for a hands-on IT professional with experience in managing the internal IT portfolio of a fintech software company, providing core IT shared services to a globally distributed user base. We’re looking for a technical manager who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in; who will maintain high standards of up-time, processes and internal security, while helping us grow our internal IT portfolio globally. You will have experience deploying and managing cloud-based IT shared services and deploying and managing Microsoft Office 365.

The role

The purpose of this role is to plan, manage, maintain, and grow the internal IT and networking infrastructure used by Entersekt globally. We are a growing software product company, and we need our shared, enabling business processes and workplace to be powered by frictionless IT services, processes and technologies. We currently have four offices globally – in South Africa, the Netherlands and the USA, with some smaller satellite offices. Currently, the company consists of 150 people globally, which we soon expect to double.

Your role will be to ensure that our internal networks are secure, our change processes are managed, and our business management and productivity software, hardware and tooling are up-to-date, tightly administered and always available. The IT manager plays an important role in ensuring our core business is successful. Key to this success is ensuring that the IT shared service scales with our business as we grow globally. 


  • Productivity suite administration: Microsoft 365 E5, including Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Skype for Business, Enterprise Mobile Security
  • Global network design, management, change, and security
  • Active directory maintenance and administration
  • Migration of any on-premises infrastructure to off-the-shelf cloud-based platforms
  • Global telephony switch and VOIP systems (Asterisk based)
  • Global physical access control systems maintenance, administration and reporting
  • Global desktop support including ticketing system, workflows, automation, and knowledge base
  • Hardware supply chain management, including local sourcing, standardization, asset tracking, and cost management
  • Internal SLA management and reporting
  • Management of internal IT team members, and service providers, across all global regions

Skills & Experience

Successful candidates will generally possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A formal IT qualification
  • 5 years’ IT management experience
  • Microsoft Office 365 management and administration experience: up to E5 preferred (includes Office 365, Exchange, Azure Active Directory, SharePoint, and security & compliance)
  • Experience in writing and developing scripts, such as PowerShell, for repeated and automated tasks
  • Experience in systems administration in a corporate Microsoft-based environment
  • Experience using and implementing Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence)
  • IT infrastructure and networking experience (including general knowledge of IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, VPN) with a working knowledge of routing and dynamic routing protocols
  • Experience implementing and sustainably utilizing monitoring systems and alerting systems
  • IT security experience, including firewall administration
  • Facilitation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills: must demonstrate the ability to create and maintain clear and concise documentation regarding internal IT systems
  • Flexibility: open to change, doing what it takes to get the job done, comfortable with ambiguity and evolving processes
  • Working knowledge of ITIL principles, procedures, and techniques is beneficial
  • Ability to plan and think strategically, both from a technology and budgeting point of view, as the business expands
